CRIMINAL DEFENSE FIRM & PRAVO.RU: CORPORATE CRIMINAL LIABILITY
Pravo.ru’s 'Corporate Criminal Liability-2020' conference with over 80 corporate business and legal market representatives as well as experts as participants was held on December 11. Criminal Defense Firm acted as a partner of the event.
The conference speakers focused on the trends of criminal and other legislations, along with legal enforcement on economic crimes cases, their prevention, criminal prosecution, and its lawful defense by business managers and counterparties.
Alexey Novikov, the Managing Partner of Criminal Defense, traversed several subjects in his report 'Defending Business from Fraud of Counter Parties: Partner’s Business Blueprint Legality'. Alexey began his speech with the firm’s cases, drawing the participants’ and live broadcasting viewers’ attention to common mistakes of managers that led to criminal prosecution. Alexey took heed of the preceding speech of Dmitry Zotov, Transfin-M ex-CEO ('Executives’ Liability for Fraud: How to Prove Your Innocence?'), backing his appeal for top-level executives to perform a legal criminal audit of their businesses beforehand and choose criminal defense attorneys on time.
Further in his speech, Alexey Novikov elaborated on possible precautions for working with counterparties, necessary management actions to prevent backlash in such scenarios, and basic criminal liabilities for businesses that cooperate with rogue counterparties.
